Philip Haddad will work hard for Scottdale

* Increasing community involvement in Borough affairs – actively inviting individuals and groups to participate.
* Giving new life to the Community Garden and Neighborhood Crime Watch programs.
* Encouraging new business and industry development in the area – guarding against high taxes and burdensome regulations.
* Supporting construction of the Coal and Coke Bike Trail linking Scottdale with Connellsville, which then connects us to Washington DC.
* Proposing that Borough Council meet twice-a-month to make the local government more accountable to citizens concerns and input.
* Increasing communication and community involvement between local charities and churches with monthly meetings.
* Strongly supporting the local arts – putting Scottdale on the map as a creator of theater and other arts as well as a friendly and workable location for filmmakers.
* Promoting Scottdale businesses to the tri-county area as a unique center for shopping and restaurants.

Candidate Philip Haddad - with a group of strong supporters - has been walking the First Ward door-to-door to introduce himself and pass out campaign literature. Philip was out in the Borough walking on Sunday, October 11; and again on Sunday, October 18. More walks are planned for October 24 and 25 so that he reaches every First Ward household at least one time before election day. Look for other events on Saturday, October 31, and Sunday, November 1. But if you prefer to meet Philip on your own schedule - please call him at 724.689.7116 or stop by his business - The Table Coffee Shop at 217 Pittsburgh Street, Scottdale - he's there six (and sometimes seven) days a week.
